The Fremont Street Experience has created an entirely new environment for Fremont. The major elements of this extravagant people promenade consists of the space frame, which serves as the venue for the light and sound shows put on nightly. It is 90 feet high and stretches almost 1400 feet down the street. The parking plaza , a 1430 parking space structure, makes room for the thousands of persons shopping at the plaza shops and the festival marketplace. There are more than 45,000 square feet of retail shops and a variety of retail carts. Enjoy a stoll through the pedestrian mall, which was created when Fremont Street was permanently closed to vehicular traffic in 1994. Histoy buffs will appreciate the historical neon signs that have been restored, relit, and hung for everyone's enjoyment.
